Achieve Harmony with Your Horse

Equestrian Fitness Training to Help Riders Improve Balance, Stamina, and Body Control.

Solve your in-saddle problems with out-of-saddle training. Blending Taekwondo drills, resistance workouts, habit coaching, and simple nutrition designed for equestrians by an equestrian.

Start feeling centered, supple, and in control—so your horse can relax into the work

No gym required • 30–40 min sessions • All levels

You weren’t meant to feel off-balance, disconnected, or stuck in your riding.
That’s why I created the Move. Ride. Thrive. (MRT) Academy — a level-based system that blends martial arts, resistance training, habit coaching, and nutrition to help you become the most capable, confident version of yourself in and out of the saddle.

Why Most Riders Stay Stuck

It’s not your horse. It’s not your coach. It’s not even your riding time.

Whether you’re new to riding or have been at it for years, the truth is the same: riding alone won’t fix what’s holding you back.

Most riders never learn how to correct imbalances, build stamina, or develop true body control. Even new riders are often left guessing how to improve outside the saddle.

The MRT Academy changes that. Through Taekwondo, resistance training, habit coaching, and nutrition, you'll develop the strength, awareness, and focus that makes every ride better — no matter where you’re starting from.

You don’t need more saddle time. You need better support off the horse.

Is Your Body Holding You Back in the Saddle?

  • Icon of a fatigued rider, symbolizing shortness of breath or poor stamina after trotting or cantering, a common fitness limiter addressed in MRT Academy training.

You run out of breath during your ride.

Riding is a cardiovascular activity — your heart and lungs work hard to deliver oxygen to your brain and limbs. If you’re breathless after a short canter or even a few transitions, it’s a sign your aerobic capacity needs attention.

Off-horse training like resistance work, martial arts, or cardio drills can increase your stamina, allowing you to stay composed and effective longer in the saddle.

  • Icon of a rider losing balance, representing poor stability and body control issues that affect performance in the saddle.

You have a hard time keeping balance in the saddle.

Do you tip forward, lean to one side, or feel easily unseated when your horse spooks? These are all signs of a weak or imbalanced core.

Equestrians ride from their torso, not just their legs — building strength and stability in this area is key to staying balanced and confident in motion.

  • Icon of no connection, symbolizing lack of rider-horse connection and body awareness while riding.

Your horse does not respond to your aids.

When your body sends unclear signals, your horse gets confused. Lack of control or awareness in your own movement = miscommunication in the saddle.

Cross-training (like martial arts or core-centered movement) improves your body control, helping your cues become crisp, calm, and clear — so your horse can respond with confidence.

  • Icon showing lower back pain, highlighting common rider posture and core strength problems.

You experience back pain during your ride.

Many riders complain of lower back pain, but mid and upper back tension is just as common — and just as limiting.

Back pain often stems from imbalances in the hips, core, and glutes, as well as tight muscles from a sedentary lifestyle. The fix? Consistent resistance training and flexibility work to restore balance and mobility.

  • Icon of two arrows pointing in opposite directions, representing rider and horse being out of sync in movement.

You feel "out-of-sync" with your horse

Do you find yourself bouncing in the saddle, or like you and your horse are constantly out of rhythm?

Tension and muscle imbalances in your body can throw off your timing and cause miscommunication. Our goal as riders is to move as one with our horse — but that requires a body that’s strong, stable, and supple.

Strength training and targeted mobility work help you move fluidly, reduce tension, and activate your core — the foundation of effective riding.

  • Icon of a rider’s foot, symbolizing difficulty keeping heels down and maintaining proper leg position in the stirrups.

You struggle to keep your heels down

Are your heels always creeping up, no matter how often your trainer reminds you? Do you grip with your knees just to stay steady?

Heels that won’t stay down are often a symptom of weak glutes, tight calves, and restricted hip flexors. It’s not just about ankle flexibility — it’s a full-body issue.

The fix? Strengthen your posterior chain (glutes + hamstrings), mobilize your hips, and condition your core so your lower body becomes a stable, grounded base.

How the MRT Academy Transforms You

Real transformation doesn’t happen in the saddle — it happens in how you train, think, and show up every day. Here’s how the MRT Academy helps you become the rider your horse deserves.
