Hi there & welcome!
I’m Patricia Galazka, an evidence-based equestrian fitness coach living in beautiful Toronto, Canada. I’m here to simplify the science of equestrian fitness and behavior change for you. I want to help you understand why you are experiencing difficulties in the saddle, and show you how to solve them out of the saddle. It is my goal to not only teach you lifetime lasting habits that help you become who you most want to be, but to make fitness work for you, and not the other way around.
My Approach To Fitness
I believe that the body that dominates your riding effectiveness is the one you carry to the saddle. While mindfulness and minor adjustments during riding are important, they cannot make up for our modern sedentary lives that prevent most equestrians from carrying their best physical self to the saddle. Thus, to truly improve in the saddle, you need to work on your body outside of it.
That’s why I focus on smarter, not harder, training. My approach emphasizes effective, lasting results by helping you develop positive health habits and an empowered mindset. It’s about progress, not perfection, and achieving your goals in a way that’s sustainable and enjoyable.

The Story Behind Equisport Fitness
Equisport Fitness has been years in the making—a culmination of my greatest passions and life experiences: horseback riding, martial arts, personal training, and psychology. This business isn’t just a career; it’s a life long mission to solve rider-specific challenges and empower equestrians to thrive both physically and mentally through my unique blend of experiences.
The story begins with my mom’s love for horses, a passion she passed on to me. From the moment I first sat on a pony at the ripe old age of 1, I was hooked. By age 10, I was taking regular riding lessons, officially cementing my identity as that “horse-crazy girl” in school. Around the same age, I also discovered Taekwondo, a South Korean martial art that became a cornerstone of my life. Training from childhood through young adulthood, I earned my black belt and became an instructor. Taekwondo taught me balance, coordination, and discipline—all of which translated seamlessly into my riding.
While studying Psychology at the University of Toronto, I became a certified personal trainer and worked in commercial gyms, helping clients of all ages achieve their fitness goals. After graduating, I briefly pursued a career in policing, but when that path didn’t work out, I fell adrift. I turned to customer service jobs, gained 60 pounds, and lost my sense of purpose.
Then came the pandemic—a blessing in disguise. Being laid off gave me the push I needed to reconnect with my passions. I reignited my love for fitness, shed the unhealthy weight, and found joy in running bootcamps and online classes. This experience reminded me of my purpose: helping others become stronger, healthier, and more confident.
Today, Equisport Fitness combines my love of horses and martial arts with my expertise in fitness and psychology to help equestrians reach their full potential. It’s more than a business—it’s my way of giving back to the community that shaped me, helping riders build strength, confidence, and harmony with their horses.
Our Goal
At Equisport Fitness, we empower equestrians to improve their connection with their horses and elevate their lives through a unique blend of fitness and martial arts. Our approach focuses on building physical strength, a positive mindset, confidence, and balance, helping riders achieve harmony both in and out of the saddle.
Our Mission
At Equisport Fitness, our goal is to create a community where equestrians are empowered to achieve their highest potential, not only in the saddle but in every aspect of their lives. Through the integration of fitness, martial arts, nutrition and mindfulness, we aim to redefine what it means to be an equestrian, fostering confidence, strength, and a harmonious connection with both horses and themselves.
Our Core Values
-
We focus on creating a sense of balance both physically and mentally. Just as harmony between horse and rider is crucial, achieving inner balance within yourself enhances your everyday life and your riding performance.
-
Building physical and mental resilience is key. We value the ability to persist through challenges and use perseverance as a tool to unlock the potential within every rider, both in and out of the saddle.
-
Riding is about more than just mastering technique—it’s about building a deep, intuitive connection with your horse. We believe in nurturing emotional intelligence and empathy to enhance the bond between rider and horse, and with oneself.
-
We believe in being authentic in every action and providing clear, science-backed methods to help equestrians achieve their goals. Trust is at the heart of everything we do, both in coaching and in fostering relationships.
-
Just as Taekwondo teaches us to grow through focus and intent, we emphasize mindfulness in every part of training. Whether it’s physical conditioning, mental clarity, or setting goals, mindfulness is the cornerstone of growth for both horse and rider.
-
Discipline doesn’t just mean strictness; it means consistently showing up for yourself, your horse, and your health. Through structured training and focused mental work, we help you create habits that empower your life both inside and outside of the arena.
-
In every rider, we aim to foster a deep sense of self-respect and empowerment. We believe that physical strength, mental resilience, and emotional control allow you to confidently face life's challenges and the demands of riding.
“Strength does not come from what you can do. It comes from overcoming the things you once thought you couldn't.”
